SILO RAM®
AES has made automated quarry dust clearance automated systems for many years. These are based on a 30 years partnership with the RAM Environnement company which develops these dust clearance systems.
The RAM (Molecule Action Reduction) process of RAM Environnement consists in clearing dust using wetting water spraying on material handling, fragmentation and sorting equipment.

AES designs the control systems for this equipment. This includes making the RAM process automated with a quarry or other operation facility.

A few years ago, the partnership was extended to the food processing industry. Indeed, fine mineral or vegetable dust in flammable, and in high amounts may explode. SILO-RAM is a specific RAM technology development for the food processing industry.

The automation is based on a risk analysis (AMDEC) carried out by another company.

AES has designed the whole automation and supervision system. The architecture is as follows : an industrial computer automates and supervises the whole RAM Environnement process. The communication uses a deterministic field bus. The information is fed into the computer through the bus. The system then handles the whole process automation : water supply to the SILO-RAM unit tank, voltage reducer management through a bar code reader for product lot traceability....

This field bus technology is used to collect information from remote facilities (> 1 Km).

New information technologies are used for fault reporting.
When a fault occurs, reaching a seriosness level set by the operator, the system sends an e-mail or SMS to a specified recipient group.

The new communication generation-oriented system uses the WEB. Operations are printed for traceability purposes. In addition, in ordre to reduces losses in the event of hard drive damage, or in the event of theft, a message is sent by e-mail to three addresses : to the customer, to RAM Environnement and to AES. A GSM message is sent to the facility and to the maintenance department.
